Active Members
  • Eligibility:  Those eligible for Active Membership shall be physicians and other scientist who by virtue of their work clearly indicate an interest and proficiency in endocrinology and metabolism in the young, and whose scholastic and scientific qualifications are acceptable to and approved by the Board of Directors and who meet the following criteria:

    1. Are Board eligible in pediatric endocrinology in the US or Canada or have equivalent training elsewhere.

    2. If Applicants have formal training in fields other than Pediatric Endocrinology and Metabolism, must have two years of postdoctoral training and two years of continued research in areas relevant to Pediatric Endocrinology and Metabolism.

    3. Associate members will submit one letter from their Program Director certifying completion of pediatric endocrinology training with clinical competence, professionalism, and meaningful participation in research or scholarly activity. Other Applicants will submit two letters of recommendation from current Active Members of the Society. The content of the letter(s) should include documentation that the applicant has fulfilled all of the criteria for active membership.

  • Rights and Obligations:

    1. Active Members shall be required to pay annual dues specified by the Board of Directors. Failure to pay such dues shall be grounds for termination of an Active Member’s membership in the Society.

    2. In addition to the rights enjoyed by all members of the Society, the rights of Active Members shall include, without limitation: (i) the right to vote on all issues requiring approval of the Members; (ii) the right to hold office; (iii) the right to serve on committees; and (iv) the right to engage in other activities delegated to the Active Members by the Board of Directors.

  • Dues:

    1. Dues for an Active Member are $200.00/year.

    2. Dues for Active Member in the first three years out of Fellowship are $100.00/year.


Associate Members
  • Eligibility:  Associate Members shall be individuals in training in pediatric endocrinology.

  • Rights and Obligations:  Associate Members shall be required to pay dues and shall have all the privileges of Active Members, except those of voting, holding office and serving on standing committees.
  • Dues:  for Associate Members are $20.00/year.

Emeritus Members
  • Eligibility:  Emeritus membership shall be conferred upon those Active Members who have retired from their professional activities and who notify the chairman of the Membership Committee or the Secretary as to their desire to change status.

  • Rights and Obligations:  Emeritus Members shall not be required to pay dues and shall have all of the rights and privileges of Active Members except that they may not vote or hold office or serve on standing committees.
  • Dues:  are waived for Emeritus Members.
Honorary Members
  • Eligibility:  Honorary Members shall be outstanding physicians or representatives of other disciplines, without regard to citizenship or nationality, or residence, who by virtue of their knowledge and abilities contribute to the aims of the Society.

  • Rights and Obligations:  Honorary Members shall not be required to pay dues but shall have all the privileges of Active Members, except those of voting and holding office and serving on standing committees.
Original Founding Members
  • Eligibility:  Original Founding Members shall be those physicians and scientists who were involved in the founding of the Society and who are listed in the society archive. Original Founding Members may also be Active, Emeritus or Honorary Members of the Society.

  • Rights and Obligations:  Original Founding Members, in their capacity as Original Founding Members, shall not be required to pay dues and shall have all of the rights of Active Members except that Original Founding Members may not vote or hold office or serve on committees.
